Bridging the Gap: Making Mental Healthcare Accessible for Our Community
At Therapy Center of Philadelphia (TCP), every session is more than therapy – it’s a sanctuary where healing becomes possible. This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your support to help maintain these vital spaces while we expand our services.
The Power of Accessible Care
For many in our community, TCP represents the first time they’ve felt truly seen in a healthcare setting. Our sliding scale fees, starting at $30 per session, ensure that women and gender-expansive people can access culturally-competent, affirming therapy regardless of their ability to pay.
Our approach works. With a 92% client show rate – nearly double the industry average – we’ve demonstrated that when therapy is both affordable and affirming, people stay and heal.
A Critical Moment
As we expand our services to accept Medicaid and additional insurance providers, we face a crucial transition period. This expansion will ultimately allow us to reach more community members who need mental healthcare. However, it also creates an immediate funding gap that we must bridge to maintain our current level of care.
