COVID Grief Support Group

By therapycenteradmin

Dates: January 2024 – April 2024 Time: TBD – based on participants needs Frequency: Biweekly Location: Virtual  Fee: $15/session NOTAFLOF Group Description: Grief is ongoing, as is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID Grief and Loss Support Group seeks to hold and honor the myriad griefs that we are experiencing as a result. As the globe continues to turn and adamantly attempts to move forward, some of us are stuck in a holding pattern; many of us are gradually losing space to share our ongoing grief and have it be witnessed and held with care and understanding. This space is for any person experiencing any form of pandemic-related grief and seeking acknowledgement, understanding, and support. This includes– but is not limited to– grieving [mass] loss, changes in health and ability, changes in relationships, loss of time, and more.   Group Facilitators: “As someone who is intimately conscious of the continued effects of the pandemic—both individual and systemic— I am deeply invested in community care and the ways we can  continue to show up for each other, especially through perpetual grief. I don’t believe any of us simply “get over” something of this magnitude; this space exists for folks to express in a place that affirms this sustained grief in all forms and seeks to both carefully hold and wade through it together.” – Nnenna Ezem (she/her) Read more about Nnenna here.  “As a disabled and immunocompromised person, I know intimately what it feels like to be abandoned by both government policy and community in this pandemic as precautions have been removed and the vulnerable have been left to fend for ourselves. As we enter year five of COVID, many of us are struggling with this isolation and abandonment, and the disconnect we feel from our neighbors, coworkers, and friends. The pandemic continues to impact us all, and whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, the loss of relationships with community members, lost time and opportunities, new disability or long COVID, or any other form of COVID grief, this is a space to share and hold the grief together.”  – Thunder X (they/them) Read more about Thunder here.   To register, please complete this interest form!
