Kay Johnson-Miranda

Meet Kay

Hello there! My name is Kay (they/them). I am a graduate student working towards my Master of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College. I am temporarily able-bodied, queer, trans-nonbinary, and a child of immigrants. I have case management experience working with young adults and families, as well as working with immigrant communities. I find joy in books, my cats, and street festivals in Philadelphia!

My approach to therapy is psychodynamic, relational, anti-oppressive, and has a strong emphasis on collaboration. I bring warmth and curiosity while fostering trauma-informed safety in our shared space. My main goal is to empower clients to grow a deeper sense of themselves and thrive in their homes and communities. I hope to incorporate psychoeducation, when appropriate, and therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT to support change in areas important to you. I am eager to work with clients of all lived experiences and especially welcome those exploring what it means to be an intersectional human being in constrictive and complicated systems.
