Hello! My name is Allie Gardner (they/them). I am a queer and trans non-binary person who is half-Taiwanese and half-white, neurodiverse, chronically ill and disabled.
I am a licensed social worker and my work is largely informed by psychodynamic, relational, and feminist theoretical frameworks. I am trained in dialectical behavior therapy, and also take from IFS/parts work, somatic and mindfulness-based approaches.
As a therapist, I am committed to upholding the autonomy of my clients and collaboratively working towards personal growth, empowerment and healing. I prioritize curiosity, reflection and support that aligns with the personal values of my clients. I take a compassionate, collaborative approach and greatly value the importance of non-judgmental positive regard within the therapeutic relationship. My guiding belief is that relationship-building is the heart of care-work, and this is my foundation for providing trauma-informed, person-centered and anti-oppressive therapeutic care.
