Nekisha Walters, MS

Meet Nekisha

Nekisha (she/they) is an AfroCaribbean queer woman. She has been working in the mental health field for over a decade in various roles. Partnering with schools, local rec centers, health professionals, and community organizations to provide therapeutic services. She graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling and is currently on-track to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (under supervision).

Nekisha has experience with providing individual, family, and group therapy for those of all ages. She looks forward to supporting clients of all lived experience who are managing anxiety, trauma, survivorship, and daily stress. Her role in the therapeutic dynamic is to provide a safe space to collaborate with clients on their personal goals through holistic, person-centered, trauma-informed care, and play therapy practices.

Outside of the therapy role she enjoys video games, art, volunteering, and cooking. Nekisha remains committed to advocating for safety and overall wellness in our community. She’s excited to support clients on their next steps of the therapeutic journey.
