Cecilia Garza Madden brings over 15 years of experience in mission-driven organizations, specifically in education, non-profits, and city government. She is passionate about creating healthy organizational cultures, clear strategies, and maximum impact, and brings this enthusiasm to her work as a consultant with the Center for Applied Research (CFAR: Consulting and Coaching). With experiences as a community organizer and a mixed-methods researcher, Cecilia is an active listener and a creative problem solver. She applies these skills to address complex problems within multi-layered organizations and systems.
Prior to joining CFAR’s senior consulting team, Cecilia spent six years on the senior leadership team of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where her focus was on operational efficiency, organizational and fiscal health, and professional development. She also spent 10 years working in higher education administration and research after starting her career engaged in anti-poverty organizing and advocacy.
Cecilia earned her master’s in education from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, a certificate in nonprofit administration from Penn’s Fels Institute of Government, and a bachelor’s in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. Her work has been published in the Social Innovations Journal.
